William Powrie is Professor of Geotechnical Engineering and Dean of Engineering and the Environment at the University of Southampton. He was or is Principal Investigator for Rail Research UK, Track21 and Track to the Future. He was a member of the steering group for the 2012 Rail Technical Strategy, with a focus on rail infrastructure.
